We love all things Hawaii

and were lucky enough to visit the island of Kaua’i

a couple of years ago! We love learning about its history and seeing all the beauty it has to offer so when @mbc_books sent us this copy of Kaua’i Storm by Tori Eldridge we were very excited! We even had a glimpse of the torrential downpours that happen in this story too!

In this book, Makalani returns to her family homestead for her grandmother’s 85th birthday celebration. She had left to pursue her career as a park ranger on the mainland and ended up settling in Oregon. When she arrives she learns that two of her cousins have recently gone missing and no one seems too terribly concerned. So she takes it upon herself to find them, no matter the danger that she will encounter. Relying on her experience and knowledge, Makalani sets out asking questions and ruffling feathers, all in hopes to find answers. The longer she is on Kaua’i, the more she realizes how much she misses her family and the land that calls to her.
