If you’re a fan of Jane Austen you’re going to adore this book!

Murder at Donwell Abbey by Vanessa Kelly was written exactly the way I always hoped to find Regency-era books.

I never quite know what it is about a book that doesn’t hit the mark but let me tell you this one was just perfect.

Ok so this is book 2 in the Emma Knightley Mysteries, and I just loved it so much, I’ve already picked up the first book! I didn’t need to read the first book to follow along, but I could tell I would probably have enjoyed book 2 even more if I had read book 1.

During a ball at Donwell Abbey Prudence Parr one of the sweetest maids there, suddenly falls to her death.  The coroner rules it an accident, believing she drank a little too much, but Emma knows this just isn’t adding up. I loved the mystery here and following along trying to figure it out was so much fun.

The characters all really come to life and I am excited that I will be able to read more about them all soon!
