by Shirley Russak Wachtel!

I really enjoyed reading this one and have already passed it on to friends!

Lena’s parents are from Poland and survived WW2 and Auschwitz. Before the war they owned a bakery and had another daughter who was the light of their lives before she succumbed to a tragic death at the hands of the Nazis. On their way to America her mother discovers that she is pregnant with Lena.

All Lena has ever wanted was to be a great baker like her mother but her parents refuse to talk about their life before the war. When Lena suddenly loses her best friend under horrific circumstances she is left feeling more alone than ever. As she overcomes this great loss she soon learns how to survive and thrive, eventually realizing her dream of owning her own bakery. When tragedy once again strikes Lena’s life she is told some shocking details about her childhood…and I did NOT see those details coming!

Thank you so much @otrpr for gifting us this advanced readers copy! This book is available in June!
