Ripper by Isabel Allende is a crime novel with an interesting premise. Amanda is a teenage girl in love with solving crime. She is the games master for an online group of amateur detectives trying to solve real crimes. When a series of murders are committed in her hometown, she enlists the help of her fellow detectives to try and solve the crimes. Pretty soon the killer strikes too close to home and kidnaps Amanda’s mother and she suddenly finds herself on a very scary countdown to find her mother before it’s too late!
Maya’s Notebook is a story about Maya, a teenage girl on the run from some very scary criminals. Maya was abandoned by her mother shortly after birth and dropped off with her grandparents. She was raised indulgently and with much love. When her grandfather passes away she just can’t cope. She turns to the hard life of drugs that leads her down some very dangerous roads. Her grandmother sends her to Chile to hide from the men that are after her and while there, she begins to heal and flourish. Both of these books were very good! I thoroughly enjoyed both stories and am definitely looking forward to reading more from Isabel Allende! Thank you so much @tlcbooktours for gifting us these books!
