Do you like a coming of age story?

I realized while reading The Palace at the End of the Sea, that I haven’t read many books like this about boys.  Some of my favorite books, like Where the Crawdad’s sing, have this kind of feeling.  Theo has gone through heartbreak at a young age, many times over and he has such profound and deep feelings.  I couldn’t help but always root for him, and hope for the best always.

I love historical fiction and haven’t read many books set in this specific period or these places.  This writing style was perfect for me, I was drawn in and intrigued, I needed to know what would happen next.
