Do you have your next vacation planned?

Well, I hope it goes better than it did for everyone on vacation at The Retreat. When Jo and Hannah decide that a little get away with their cousin Maya is exactly what they need to reconnect, they didn’t pay attention to the warnings of this island’s creepy past.

I did not read the Sanatorium, Sarah Pearse’s first book, but I knew Alyssa loved it! So I was excited to read her latest book, and it was just the thriller I had been looking for!

This story peeled away like an onion, and that’s one of my favorite ways to read books! The more I read, the more I discovered. I appreciate that it was creepy and scary without the details being too dark. Once I picked this up, I didn’t set it back down. Thankfully I took a photo early on because I took this book everywhere with me. I read while I ate and while I did chores around the house, so it got a little beat up.
