I am not, I wish I was! I love a good paint by number or something with very specific directions!
The Artist of Blackberry Grange by Paulette Kennedy was nothing that I expected! After Sadie’s broken engagement, she decides to up and change her life. She’s now going to be her great aunt Marguerite’s live in companion. She hasn’t visited her aunt’s mansion in many years and didn’t realize how far she’s fallen into dementia.
As strange and creepy things start to happen, she needs to figure out who to trust and what is really happening. There has always been some drama between her grandmother and her grandmother’s sisters, but this is so much more than she could ever imagine. The past is coming back to haunt them and the beautiful paintings that Marguerite has been working on seem to be intertwined.
What a wonderfully written story! I realized quickly that this was gothic fiction, which I don’t read often but it was done perfectly! I loved that the book referenced Wuthering Heights because it had such a similar feel!
Thank you @otrpr for this gifted book!!
