The author, Aiden Gabor, recounts his life from a youngster running with the mob to his adult life being forced to join the police force to be an undercover informant for the DOJ. The stories he tells really allow you to envision what he must have been going through and the conflicting emotions he felt. All through his life he wondered at his casual indifference to inflicting violence. At the end of the book he finally learns the shocking truth of his ancestors and is able to finally find peace after a long and tumultuous life.
