Thank you so much @bookishfirst and @sagapress for sending us this ARC! We absolutely LOVE receiving books to review!! The Deep by Rivers Solomon is somewhat of a confusing story. It has absolutely great reviews already so it’s hard to say that it was a bit of a miss for us. I admit that it took me a little bit to really be able to focus on the true meaning behind the story. This book is one big metaphor that I had a hard time wrapping my mind around. In retrospect, I wish that I would have read the song lyrics (this story is based on a song) before reading the book. The main point is to recognize that we must not forget our past, our ancestors and what they went through. History is such an integral part of our lives, we must remember it and learn from it. Please let us know your thoughts on this book! We want to know if we missed something here
