Thank you to Penguin Randomhouse for gifting me a digital copy of this book! Sue Monk Kidd is a brilliant writer and you are immediately immersed into Roman times and follow these characters as though you are there with them.
You may know the biblical Jesus, but this author is able to give insight that is unique and a little daring, while still being respectful. I highly recommend The Book of Longings and The Invention of Wings, especially if you like historical fiction and want a story that will stay with you for a long time.
