White Ivy by @susieyyang was kind of that book for me. The writing was so well done and readable, which is my favorite! I had zero clue what this book was about and I never even read the cover for the synopsis. Had I looked this up I would have seen this:
Itโs weird when the writing is so well done but you donโt actually like any of the characters. You keep hoping youโll find a redeeming quality, but you never really do. I was able to relate to Ivy in one way, she was born in Asia and moved to the US at a young age.๐ฐ๐ท But her family didnโt have a lot of money and as they struggled to get by, she learned how to survive, in any way she could. As she tries to figure out how to fit in, she is confused about who she really is. I think this book will surprise you if you pick it up, it was nothing like I expected and I truly canโt tell you too much about it, without spoiling things! Thank you to Simon and Schuster for this gifted Advanced Readerโs Copy! This book publishes โชon 9/8/20โฌ!!
