When we were in Egypt and Paris, we were extra vigilant about getting scammed or stolen from. However, we happily never really had any issues either way.
Lucky was an interesting story about a girl who was abandoned by her mother as a baby, who was in a hard place at the time. She was picked up by a grifter who became her father, and he raised her as his daughter. I think he truly did love her, but he led her through a tough life of struggling to make ends meet.
Lucky struggled with wanting a normal life instead of bouncing around from place to place. But her dad ended up getting wrapped up with the wrong people and went to jail for quite a while.
This was a quick and easy read!
