Do you like reading memoirs?

I don’t even really know where to begin with Reach and Fall by Zeke Petrie, I think I’m still somewhat processing this book. Zeke is known throughout Haiti, whether you are Haitian or American, this guy from Ohio has made a name for himself in this fascinating country. 🇭🇹 While I was reading this book, I realized this must truly be the most honest memoir I have ever read (and I’ve read a lot). I was intrigued but at times very disturbed by some of the things Zeke has endured and also dished out.  The true struggles of a man with a chip on his shoulder fighting health issues and at times depression, you can’t help but root for him to find his peace and happiness.

Reach and Fall was able to give me insight to Haiti that I have been wanting for a long time, if you want to understand more about the first black nation that fought and won its independence, this book is one to add to your list!

This is an easy read, the book flows smoothly, but the content is hard to swallow at times. I encourage you to step out of the box and pick up this book. This is easily one of my favorite memoirs and I will certainly reread it again soon.
