Dear Haiti, Love Alaine by Maika Moulite and Maritza Moulite..

has been sitting in my TBR since its release date and I finally got around to reading it! I loved this book so much! Casey and I have visited Haiti so many times and have been to a lot of the landmarks mentioned in this book. It is so cool to be able to truly visualize a place in a book when you have actually been there!

This is a sweet story about a teenager sent to her parents’ birthplace as a sort of punishment for a school project gone wrong. While there she has the chance to connect with her mother, with whom she has not been close to and visit the land of her ancestors. Her humor and wit make this story very engaging and enjoyable to read!
